Maytime Weekender August 31st

Well, folks, it’s the last day of August which sadly means summer is drawing to a close. It’s nearly time to pack up the BBQ and store away the garden furniture, but let’s not be glum! it’s the weekend and there’s lots of news, and things going on both at the pub and around the Cotswolds in general such as…
Sam Jones
This Sunday from 3pm we have the incredibly talented Sam Jones performing for us in one of our last outdoor Sunday music sessions of the season. Hailing from Gloucestershire Sam is inspired by many artists including Prince, The 1975 and OneRepublic.
Roast
We don’t know about you, but for the first time in a long time last night, we were a bit chilly. While being a bit cold is perhaps an Englishman’s default state, it’s been so beautiful and hot for so long we completely forgot about the sensation.
While this weekend’s forecast is predicting that Asthall will be a relatively warm 23c on Sunday, it could be one of the last weekends to enjoy a warm and rain-free alfresco roast. So come on down this Sunday to make the most of it.
Moreton-In-Marsh show
Tomorrow head over bright and early to Moreton-In-Marsh for what is probably the UK’s largest agricultural show. There are more than 2000 farm animals on show, including the Horse of the Year Show. They’ve got hundreds of trade stands, JCB stunts and pig agility. We don’t know what pig agility is but it sounds amazing, in fact reading that alone was enough to make us include the Moreton-In-Marsh show on this list.
The Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home Fun Day
If you’re more into pets than livestock then you might want to check out the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home fun day tomorrow. There is a dog show, cat photography competition and loads more including face painting.
