Maytime Weekender 3rd of August 2018

Maytime Weekender 3rd of August 2018

Hello and welcome to the first weekend of August, and it’s hot hot hot. So, just what should you spend your precious few days off doing (cough come to the pub cough)? Well, there’s lots going on around the Cotswolds, here are a few suggestions.

COUNTRYFILE LIVE

Do you simply adore Matt Baker? Can’t get enough Craven? In other words are you a complete Countryfile-phile? If so get yourself to Countryfile Live, which is on every day until Sunday. Taking over the grounds of Blenheim Palace, there’s livestock displays, cookery classes, agricultural shows, fishing courses and much much more. If none of that is of much interest to you, there’s a really big beer tent! Plus, it is only 25 minutes from the Maytime Inn, so perfect for you to swing by after a day of strolling about in your finest tweed.

JESSICA RHODES

This Sunday, once again, we have the amazingly talented Jessica Rhodes performing in our garden between 3 pm and 5 pm. So if you fancy a laid back pint in the sunshine, and perhaps a traditional Sunday roast, it’s the place to be.

C*****MAS MENUS REVEALED NEXT WEEK

Yes, we know it has only just turned August, and right now all you guys want to think about is BBQs and suntans. In fact, it is practically blasphemous to mention a certain date that famously comes but once a year, and that is currently 144 days away.

However, we get very, very busy around December. So, if you would like to have a festive meal with friends, family or co-workers now is a good time to book. Keep your eyes peeled on the website next week when we will be releasing our C*****mas menus.

LET’S GET QUIZZY WITH IT

Later on, this month is, of course, the August bank holiday, which means that you lucky people can most likely stay out extra late on Sunday. And lucky for you that date coincides with our monthly pub quiz. Come down on Sunday the 26th and try your hand at winning some excellent prizes.
