Maytime Weekender 26th of October 2018

Friday has arrived, well done on soldiering through the week. Now it’s time to kick back, relax and enjoy. Unless of course, you work weekends like us, but either way we hope you have an enjoyable couple of days. If you’re not sure of what to do, here’s a couple of suggestions and a bit of news about the pub.

Autumn roasts

This Sunday the clocks change and this sceptred isle will once again be plunged into darkness, well darkness from 5pm until about 5am, once again. It’s not all doom and gloom though, it’s the perfect time to cosy down, with jumpers and books and…delicious roasts. Come to the Maytime Inn this Sunday to enjoy a seasonal roast and warm your cockles by the fire.

Wine Club Meeting

On Friday the 25th of November we will be hosting the next instalment of our Wine Club sessions, and you don’t need to worry if you missed the last one. It’s the perfect event if you A) like nice wine or B) like nice food. Our wine-expert-mate Alberto has perfectly paired a selection of wines with our banquet style set-menu that is all included in the ticket price! Plus, at the end of the night, you can buy bottles or cases of all the wine you’ve sampled, at trade prices.

Craft Fair

Who doesn’t like a craft fair? We love stalls covered in jars of jam complete with the tastefully-applied-wax-paper-lids, it’s in our Cotswoldian nature. But Nature in Art’s Annual Gift & Craft Fair in Gloucester will be much more than that. There will be woodturning, handmade jewellery, metalwork and stained glass objects all for sale. Plus, you can check out the one of a kind museum at the same time.

Ghost Fest

Oxford Castle and Prison are currently hosting their ever-popular ‘Ghost Fest’ event, with a range of activities and attractions for the whole family from Harry Potter style potion making, midnight tours and trick or treating. Find out more here.

See you soon!
