Maytime Weekender 17th of May

Maytime Weekender 17th of May

It’s Friday at last, while you may be cursing the skies that despite this week’s rather lovely weather this weekend’s forecast looks a bit miserable, do not fret, good times are still to be had. Here is all of the latest Maytime Inn news and some suggestions for the coming weekends.

Our beautiful garden

Is getting even more beautiful!  We know that our garden is something pretty special, and since the weather is getting better we thought it a good idea to spend some time making it even better.

As well as investing in some incredibly comfy new garden furniture, we asked Bradbury Designs to carry out some landscaping work to make the garden even more tranquil.  We’ve even had the Maytime Team out in the carpark raking down some new gravel, so you there is no need to worry about any potholes damaging your posh car. See some pictures here.

Jessica Rhodes

Join us on Sunday the 26th of May from 3pm, when the delightful Jessica Rhodes will be performing. This hyper-talented singer-songwriter has supported the likes of Justin Bieber on tour and her music is the perfect thing to relax to after one of our legendary Sunday roasts.

Quiz night

The last Sunday of the month is our pub quiz night, and as this one is extra-special, why? It’s a bank holiday! So, you’re free to enjoy yourself without any of that Pre-Monday anxiety and you can “lubricate your brain” without fear of a work hangover. There’s a maximum team size of six and it is £1 entry per person, booking recommended.

Homemade gin at the bar

Lubos, our general manager, has been hiding away of late, concocting a delicious new strawberry and elderflower gin for you to try! This homemade gin is the absolutely perfect accompaniment for a sunny spring afternoon spent in our garden. Come down and sample the fruit of his labour.

Red Cross open gardens

Looking for something to do with the family, that’s also super close to the pub, and do your bit for charity? Visit five acres of beautiful organic garden this Sunday, at the Old Rectory in Quenington. Entry is £5 with all proceeds going to the Red Cross.
