Maytime Weekender 22nd of March 2019

Maytime Weekender 22nd of March 2019

Happy Friday pub-goers, the weekend is here and according to the calendar (if not the weather) so is spring. While right now it might be grey outside, just think in a couple of months you could be sat in our sun-drenched garden, GnT in hand, without a care in the world. If you are at a loss about what to do this weekend, and next for that matter, here are a few suggestions on how to spend your time.

Try the spring menu

As spring is here, so of course is our new seasonal and locally-sourced menu. What would any good spring menu be without some lamb? New to our offerings we have a Cotswold lamb belly, rump & kofta with creamy mash, carrot purée, wild garlic & rosemary gravy, for the veggies out there we have a delicious Miso glazed aubergine, stir-fried Chinese cabbage and mushrooms among much more. Full menu here.

Mothers Day

If you are looking for somewhere to treat your own mother, or your children are still at that age where the responsibility for Mother’s Day is on you, you will be delighted to hear that we are doing our usual ‘present a child offer’. Every mother is entitled to one free glass of prosecco when they present a child (of any age) to the bar.

Pub Quiz

Also on the 31st of March is our monthly pub quiz. Expect some tricky questions and some great prizes including a cash jackpot. Entry is only £1 per person with a maximum team size of six. Our quizzes are always popular so booking is strongly recommended in order to avoid disappointment.

Bibury Literary Festival

If you’re looking for an activity this weekend, that is coincidentally just 15 minutes from the Maytime, you might be interested in attending the Bibury Literary Festival. There will be some local and national writers taking part in the event including Rory Bremner and Professor Jane Ridley. More info here.

Are we your pub of the year?

Finally, just a little note to say that The Maytime Inn has been shortlisted for the Pub of The Year accolade at the 2019 Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards, so if you’ve particularly enjoyed a pint, meal or stay at the Maytime then we would really appreciate you voting for us here. It only takes a couple of seconds.
