A very happy Friday to you all, we’re in full Christmas mode in the pub now — there’s mulled wine on the bar, the fire is roaring and we have gone to town on our decorations this year. Christmas Opening times

If you were planning on popping for a pint or some food around the big day, then look no further. Here are our confirmed opening times for the Christmas period.

• Christmas Eve: 11:00-17:00
• Christmas Day: Closed
• Boxing Day: 11:00-16:00
• 27th-30th: Open as normal
• New Years Eve: 11:00-02:00
• New Years Day: 11:00-16:00

Gift Voucher

It’s the penultimate weekend before the big day, which means you’ve probably got a couple of beads of sweat on your brow thinking about battling through the crowds tomorrow to secure a few more Christmas presents. Fear not, we’ve come to the rescue! We’re offering very special Maytime Gift Vouchers, which we think even the most ungrateful friend or relative would appreciate. NYE

If you’re still stuck for a plan for New Year’s Eve, then look no further. We’re having a big party to celebrate the new year starting from 6 pm and carrying on until 2 am. There’s no need to buy tickets, just come on down to enjoy the usual great food, great drinks and some brilliant live music from Vince Freeman.

Frost Fayre

If you’re looking for something to do with the kids this weekend, then you might want to check out Dyrham Park’s ‘Frost Fayre’ which seeks to replicate fairies of seventeenth-century London which took place when the Thames froze over. Sadly they have no frozen lake, so it’s taking place in their stables, but there should still be plenty of Christmas cheer.
